​I love these types… s@it stirrers
They do make me laugh, 
Passive aggressive… those sorts!
They try to embarrass you by looking at your faults. 

Don’t entertain it, 
People will try to provoke, 
I have been around too long to fall for it, you know? That type of bloke. 

I walk this journey and meet characters on the way,
You receive a bit of patter and then have your say. 

We are all characters 
People will always try their luck, 
But as I reach a time in my life… I refuse to give a f@ck.🤣

In my day

​In my day we had fun,
People were humble, and  did face their own ordeals,
Politics was better managed back then and sport brought many of us joy
I remember fondly as a little boy.

Yes there were the bigots who needed to be ‘called out’,
They weren’t very nice people, as now they would receive a much needed clout.

People made decisions and stuck to it,
Systems didn’t change all the time, 
People in power made mistakes, politicians will always philander… for goodness sake!

There was less technology 
And people engaged without a text, 
People did wind each other up, and it wasn’t put on social media to cause us to vex.

We loved and we cried
Humbled our hearts when someone famous died,
But today I say to people: “just chill”
The world will always have its fraughts, it’s just how we manage which is the almighty deal.

Trying again

​What else can you do?
Feel sorry for yourself?
Yes, address the issues you have within,
But today’s want you need to start to rescind.

You are not alone,
This is England with healthcare galore,
Yes, we moan about the NHS, but that’s about politics and funding which is always sore.

Trying is the start,
Someone is going to work with you; 
God is in your corner, and focuses the balances you ensue.

Addictions is a killer
Anything overwhelming will always cause harm,
Then again the amygdala is the pinpoint that can take you that bit far.

Dont worry, today is your light 
The first step is the hardest to take,
Yes, there will be moments you will need to overcome and overcome an emotional break.

This poem is a pray for you
Look to your life, no matter how damaged you are,
Today is a new day, love of hope isn’t that far!

Relatable

​There are people you can connect with
And others you can’t, 
They won’t get you, nor you with them,
Say a prayer and avoid to condemn.

Connection is key
It’s a factor where you are on the right path and through the others eyes able to see.

Don’t engage in conversation 
There’s no point to be proved, 
For myself it’s about connection, especially when a debater starts
Disconnect yourself from that person and that shall protect your heart.

People are people, they don’t need to be figured out,
Leave them be, 
It’s like that old saying:
“You can lead a horse to water, but ultimately it’s the other person to feel free.”

Tomorrow isn’t that far❤️

​My Dad
My best friend,
We didn’t start out as the best of mates,
Yes, we loved each other but we would often ingrate. 

He was my best friend,
The one I miss the most
When now as nonsense is said to me, 
I think of him to calm my feelings 
The world without him doesn’t sound appealing.

He is my best friend,
Well in spirit he certainly is, 
We went on a journey together in his last 15 to 20 years
When I think of him, I can hear his voice without any tremor or fears.

I said my last words to him at  10:00pm on the 16th May 2023
He was there pretty damaged and so tired,
But we were thinking of the times he got himself out of the gutter, recaptured himself and then became admired.

I miss him, I am sure we all do
I pray to be with him one day, as this time on earth is only borrowed.. yet we continue to pursue.

Life hasn’t turned out the way it should

​Life hasn’t turned out the way it should
People getting Ito wrong relationships and not bailing out, 
They feel compelled to hold onto something that may never happen
This is life after all, not a catwalk to parade the latest fashion!

Life is the walk
You didn’t ask to be here, 
But you look to move forward and deflect that moment of the face you fear.

Life is will get better, 
Not sure how, or when, 
Say your prayers, they so help, 
Otherwise, you seek frustration, and that leads to a yelp. 

Keep going forward,
Answers are always there to craft the outcome you and God want,
Today is another day to start living
Speak to your young or older self, that’s the spirit of giving.

Reminiscence

​Do you remember the day?
When phones weren’t the dominant vice, 
We spoke to each other, 
Had a laugh with out a device, and you focused on every now then….
I now focus on a book or the television 
A moment of escapism not a text that causes angst and mission.

Focus on you
Focus on art, 
Focus on how to have a laugh
Yes, that’s where the phone gets involved, streaming has helped but hasn’t entirely solved.

Meet someone 
Or pontificate on your worn with a good old book, 
Connection is important, and for some that can’t be with many,
My time with God is my ultimate focus, and that prayer arrives as plenty.

Be kind to you
F@ck what the world perceives what you need to portray,
You are beautiful, funny, lovely and charming
If others don’t agree… F@ck them, nothing in this world is that important where Sh@tstirs cause that issue which could be alarming.
