People who we still miss

​If the shoe was in reverse would I want them to miss me when I am gone, 
I would want them to live their ‘best’ life and turn things right from things that went wrong. 

If they said, ‘I miss that git, where are they when you need them?’
You then proceed to make a few mistakes and fall time and time again, 
Thereby focusing is imperative my learned friend. 

The fact is they are not here, 
The harsh truth, as God has put them in a place where there’s hope and no more fear. 

We say goodbye, 
We say ‘hello’ one day again soon,
I am simply writing these words to express my feelings, and not humming someone else’s tune.

What does fellowship mean to you…. (A.A poem)

​What does fellowship mean to you?
A connection of being astound light-minded people who understand the place you have been, 
It lightens the burden and avoids us to sin. 

What works for you may not with someone else, 
But opening up and telling your story, 
Remember you are leaving this with your higher power, they capture the glory. 

The aim is to heal, 
And be around people you appreciate your need to care, 
And the balance comes from a prayer first thing of day
The negativity shall soon go away. 

The connection is powerful
The connection shall be put in place, 
Read the A.A. big book, especially pages 84-86
Which brings reflection and add perspective into the mix.

We are who we are…..

​Some people are light minded
Some need to probe and ask questions, 
Some need a dialogue of conversations
This is the part when you choose, 
Otherwise you shall end up a cropper to eventually lose. 

Some people are wonderful and kind 
Some people have a bee in their bonnet and want to argue, 
Those are the people you need to leave alone and hand over to God,
Basically you are praying for them and refuse calling them a ‘sod’.

Some people are big
And some people are thin, 
All that matters is that we embrace each other as the outcome has no worth, 
Remaining hopeful removes negativity that often hurts. 

Some people are kind
Some people show love, 
Some people are holding to hope and ask prayers,
Today is all we have, relax for a moment the higher power is there. 

Relax
Take your time,
Surround yourself with good people and avoid people who try to rile, 
Ignoring them is an art form, and that attribute can take a while.

Praying for a chance

​We ask God to be there when we are in need
Being a person who loves their higher power, is a full time job… indeed. 

Yet, I love it
I love looking to God every single second of the day, 
I know I feel protected through a powerful prayer, 
It’s more than knowing they are omnipresent… meaning everywhere.

I know there is balance when it is solemnly asked,
We can operate on an analytical stand point, and that is okay
But letting go, is free will as this method of approach is what I prefer to obey.

We ask God all the time to be our rock
As I know I would have been dead today if it wasn’t for the Father I wouldn’t be here writing these words 
Remain still and refuse to be disturbed.

Why silence is required

​Some people need to voice their views
Some people stay silent, then listen to their thoughts and become amused. 

Some people need to be still
For me, that’s the highlight of my recovery, when the voices inside of head need to leave
I need to be balance, have quiet and learn to receive. 

Silence has been my best friend, it can be yours
People wanting a conversation when it’s silence you crave and adore. 

Some people need stillness
And that’s the same for me, 
Too many words said can chain me, but I know through my higher power I am free.

Gifts

​We are all born with gifts, 
Undeniably, humbly and worthy to give your peers a lift. 

So don’t speak ill what you have 
Work on it, and show others what you can do
The world is honoured to see your skill, that you are able to pursue.

You see, I write,
I can only explain that the gift is flurry of words that enter the mind, 
Formed into a sentence, without stopping what you want to say
It’s a flow of creativity, which is guidance through a high power that stays. 

You see, use your gifts, 
Use the art that is held inside, 
Even if it’s scientific, look at practical solutions where a gift has been formed
A natural coordination which is to you, is the norm. 

Gifts are precious, use them with heart and soul
The exhalation is an aim to show the world what you can do, 
Exhibiting a pathway in this life you can ensue.

Life… your life

​I know it’s cliche
‘Live your life’, where commitments hold you back,
Say a prayer and leave it with God,
The spirit is always there guiding you when we ask,
That feeling is powerful and can ultimately last.

I was scared of life, where consequences exposed me at the end of the day, 
I thought I had an answer for everything, but in the end the higher power was the vessel that remained.

Today I feel blessed 
And a blessing is coming your way too, 
My eyes are no longer closed I happy to take a risk,
Life is not finite, so why not delve into a moment of bliss?.

Leave it with God first 
Leave it with prayer, 
We can always turn wrong into right through a prayer, 
As we can only see the present.. remember God is always here..

I know me…

​I know I can be difficult 
I know I can be awkward to be around,
I know my articulation can be cutting and not very profound.

I know I can be nice
As I treat others on how I’ll like to be treated,
The strength inside is too stubborn to be defeated.

Life is a journey 
No one shall know the answer when it shall end?
Yet it’s a humble feeling when you see your life, as there’s plenty to look forward to and transcend.

You are the life of the world 
Yet you question what you feel inside, 
Please be nice to you and others… it’s through God in whom we need to confide.

​Do not compare, and look at the similarities, 
Be around light-minded people, and removing any fragilities. 

As I attempt to stay strong
Avoiding to have that paralysing drink,
Responsible for today and balancing the thoughts to avoid me to sink.

Thank you for today
As I leave that in God’s hands, 
This will remove the chance to have isolating thoughts, 
As all shall pass today, as I am no longer in that place that haunts. 

Things will occur for a reason;
As it’s said when bad news does arise, 
Pray and leave this with your higher power before you fall
There is a spirit within you, so stand up and seek the path God chooses you to call.

People’s traits.

​There are some people that turn something you say into a argument, 
You will say something and they turn your words around, 
You just shared an opinion but it’s an argument they choose to have found. 

And there are some people who like to start with laughter and say a joke, 
These are called ‘light minded people’ those are my kind of folk. 

Some people are worriers, they worry because that’s the way they are. 
The say the words ‘ahhh’ all the time, and that is okay, 
They need to relax a little, as sometimes I would like them to go away. 

You see the world is about connecting 
Understanding experiences, were some are unique and others not perfect
But ultimately we need to be surrounded in a safe space.. 
that’s wonderfully feeling, gentle as the words are not at all argumentative or cause haste.

I got a chance to pick yourself up..

​I had a chance
I did the work through the 12 steps, 
Moving away from addiction and that place which would have lead to death
I am so pleased I have fellowship otherwise I would have faced death. 

One thing at time, 
It’s a marathon and not a sprint, 
You get no reward for doing everything fast, 
You need to be patient with yourself first, that sort of balance shall last. 

Today is all we got, 
I have said that a few times before, 
Yet it still remains true from the journey we endure
We should sought laughter and plenty more. 

You love who you love
And care for who you choose to care, 
I love you, even if I never meet you again
Take these words of comfort, a safe space we all ought to depend.

From time to time

​From time to time you need to do something gregarious 
It can be anything from doing a bungee jump from going on a long cruise 
You eventually will need to chill out from all the effort and need to take a snooze. 

You need to ‘just do it’ and not debate with the mind
I wished knew what I know now, but that is the lesson of life
Hindsight is a wonderful thing… as long you don’t carry rife. 

Be kind to your body, heart and soul
Try to be positive in your outlook, as nothing is perfect, so please let it go…

I suggest say a prayer and leave it with God handle
The prayer will manifest and will be managed at all angles. 

So enjoy, stay and leave it with God
The higher power shall put you in a better place,
I know that today is all we have, as life is sometimes difficult to embrace.

How to write a poem….

​The feeling of writing poetry is a smoothness which never leaves, 
It’ can be about anything in life, mainly from what you start to believe. 

For me, it’s about God
The one we all answer to, 
No point in arguing about hate or blame culture, which appears to be a sport for today
I rather those discussion go away. 

I am blessed to write and speak from the heart, 
I look at the last word and see what it can rhyme with… so therefore, this sentence shall depart. 

Poetry can be about knowledge, kindness, love and what you are not sure 
I know there is a world out there so broken… which none of us choose to have more. 

So forgiveness and love
Or moving on from people you even do love,
I know someone is looking over us for protection, so reflect when one day you are looking at the skies up above.

From generation to generation…

​You see, us Brits like to moan
I am pleased.I love God first, there I won’t leave the Father alone. 

I rather not moan, I prefer to pray,
I rather encourage people and not speak ill, 
No job today is easy.. so we have to roll our sleeves up and accept what is real.

There is strange behaviour from generations which we can’t fathom, 
They call it ‘the progressive era’ where things are modified through A.I. And technology which cause more problems than it’s worth, 
It’s made us far more impatient, as our brains start to hurt. 

What an era we are facing,
Everything is fast and has no time to breathe,
I know upping the pace is a good thing but sometimes a chill pill is what you believe. 

So goodbye as this passage shall eventually end
Working through another day and learn from the aspects where it can transcend,
Where it’s hard to speak to someone without an argument to manifest
This life for anyone has become an almighty test.

That is what you do Vicky, our friend, 
The rooms from the place that you have provided us with hope, 
words which inspire, despite the pain you shared and from which we have all learned
This is a blessing from God where you are able to discern.

You look at the tally of years, 
That’s not important right now, 
This is to celebrate your day with us, 
God bless you Vicky, I know and feel no judgment from you and a high level of trust. 

You come across wonderful 
You are a blessing from God, no matter what you have put yourself through, 
Let’s celebrate this day Vicky, an honour and respect to you.

Today is your day, the 1st of August from what we all acknowledge and see
I and others thank the lord for your life, 
You are a blessing for your husband, children and grandchildren today and forevermore

The world of recovery

​The world of recovery is a long, long road,
You shall see breakage but you shall also see repair,
The aim is to join as fellows and simply be there. 

The world is a struggle 
And recovery tends to be on the fore front,
Be humble to your body and please pray, 
that’s a conversation for you to stay..

The world is a big place 
And we stay in a small part of it to create comfort to our core,
Thank God for his mercy and grace 
As we seek peace when we reach that final place. 

Well done for getting this far
Well done you have accepted things need to change,
You shall recapture a new freedom and one that you’ll be able to sustain.
