Wanting to pick up….

​Time is changing, we are now getting stronger, 
Some people on their sobriety journey will understandably struggle 
But this programme of 12 steps is the way forward, 
That’s my personal view
I know by the grace of God there is a way through.

You may want someone to hold your hand
You may not… not at all, 
I didn’t get the support from my family and friends, 
God found me broken, people around me couldn’t comprehend.

Some people said stupid things, 
I told them: ‘I am being serious don’t f.ck with me’,
I wanted this illness to be rid so I can be set free. 

I needed the rooms, that’s without a doubt,
I would say to anyone in the rooms, ‘stay’ don’t leave,
People will be at hand, you are in a safe space where we look at the similarities, don’t advice and compare
There is always a higher power inside of you, so be open, trust in him and simply be present in that moment… and there.
