Learning A.A.

​I tried my best
When drinking I thought I was functioning everyday;
The reality is can this disease really go away.

We did this to ourselves, 
We need a sponsor and fellows to speak too,
We learn the steps, and through a sponsor who gives tough love,
The itinerary is acceptance and surrender to a higher power,
And making amends, through the times I would normally cower. 

The learning is powerful
Meetings have a point,
Similarities should be identified, and not the differences!
So go with an open mind, 
And let go as the answer is in the steps…. You’ll find!

A.A. And the other anonymous’s is continual recovering but that is okay,
I know I can speak to somebody when I fall down,
As the past can still be seen.. especially the moments when I acted like a clown.
