Do not judge, simply listen
Your views take a back seat… for now…
You listen to people who are in pain and want to be heard
No solutions.. at this stage
Your life will soon enter onto the next page.
Don’t take my word for it, just simple don’t judge
You’ll feel better for it, your mind doesn’t require that awkward conversational nudge.
Allow me to explain, I gave a talk today at a A.A. Meeting
I received that nice warm and welcoming greeting,
I won’t feel judged in a meeting like this,
As the rawness of my talk I was led by my heart not to miss.
Don’t judge,
Even though in the past, my default would have said something in haste,
I am now on a journey with God.. and that road of discovery I never want to lose pace.

"None of us can stay positive all of the time.... my theory and practical is this, if you pray everyday, be nice to that one person every day (or better still more people), then the world will have that little more love to show and perhaps you will feel better....Anger solves nothing, love creates harmony, encouragement, hope and love..." What about me? I have type 1 diabetes, love the arts and I am a god fearing man (I am sure you can tell)...... I am also on IG type '@jaypoeticsensitivity.

Relating to others.
When I became sober….
I did a chair today
I tried my best to be raw and honest,
I found these lovely people going through various difficult times
And they required a A.A. Meeting to seek a story to relate to… and tie in what’s in my heart and mind.
I spoke from the heart
I gave my heart because they needed to know this programme works,
Don’t take my word for it! you see it in the rooms
It’s about honesty to openingly share
As God has hit your heart and mind… to be fair.
He used me to say my truth,
I just went with the flow and avoided the alcoholic I once was… and disturbingly rude.
I prayed for these people during my talk,
I saw brokenness to the very core,
Good people do hit hard times, especially as they are unable to find a way out,
Therefore, you drink to oblivion… and you think escape is worth a shout.
All I say is that is that I, and others do care, without a question of doubt,
I may be leaving London to go to Birmingham, but you have my mobile number…. Plus I’ll always be about.
“Grateful to be sober today..”

Step 10… inventory
What am I going to do today?
Wind someone up or talk nonsense, like I usually do,
I know my higher power will guide me to act on a list of tasks to ensue.
I’ll start by brushing my teeth and then have a wash,
Get in the shower and get the blood pumping when I feel low,
The time I spend with God will have plenty to show.
I keep it balanced
I will keep it right,
I will do the simple things well,
and if others moan, hand that woe to God,
That issue can be managed by your higher power so your soul won’t feel shot.
You see I am with God everyday
The spirit is everywhere,
These words are a devotion.. as I am blessed to write and then share.

Waking up.. new day
As I wake up
And head in a little spin,
Trying to capture my bearings as I wonder what this day would bring.
I know I am sober
And blessed to be still alive,
I know the drink got too much, now I revel to a place I can continue to thrive.
I wake up and write these words
I start a day with prayer and poem,
I may never meet you again, but these words I shall give to you,
Care in abundance, the direction I ensue.
Tiredness will soon leave
I’ll go to the gym as my faith in God I receive.
So that you for this day which isn’t guaranteed,
And making the most of it as each day I look to succeed.

Living with sobriety
Living with sobriety
Nearly two years in, I love this new way of life,
I know that being with light minded people who are sober and encouraging others,
This is a programme is solid.. supporting sisters and brothers.
Living sober
There is no place I rather be,
I was scared to have this disease… but I had to surrender.. as this was obviously me.
Living with sobriety
A place I shall treat today as a foreign place,
Looks good in a photo, but won’t ever want to return to face.
Living with sobriety is a good place to be,
The fellowship of A.A. Are my ‘top up’ as I am maintaining to be free.
Living with sobriety is a place I am pleased to have returned,
20 months on.. as there is plenty more for me and others in this situation to learn.

Yes, you are good enough…
Yes, you are good enough
You heard me… I am telling you the truth,
God didn’t give us life for not to give a hoot.
Yes, you are good
You are smart,
Funny, loving and kind,
You know what the next word shall be… yes…’and it’s all easy to find.’
Ignore the a@sholes they don’t deserve your time,
They need their own validation, and they will say they are validated already,
So don’t not say a thing,
It’s you we are talking about… so do something uncanny… hum or perhaps sing!
you are enough
You are more than anything else,
Don’t listen to negativity, seek your heart in God … and learn about your mental health..

Present… with a prayer
You are a leader
You are an accountable soul,
Taking stock with your idea, comes with passion and want
You are blessed and highly favoured to express proactive thoughts
There is nothing stopping you… as these ideas haven’t been bought.
You are leader
A person with strength within,
you are humble soul, trying your best,
Leave this with God, he shall fill you with zest.
Pray and say: “God I leave this with you”
Easier said than done, but stress will always be there
Quietness has its pluses but increased volume shall be shared.
Pray and say to God: “guide me, learn me to say the right things.”
You will receiving a blessing, and all that positives that does bring.
