Safety in the rooms

​People who don’t suffer won’t understand 
People who say it’s genetic need to stand back, look at the similarities and land.

This is an illness 
I was going to die, 
No sh.t Sherlock, now talk about something else or say goodbye. 


Empathy is key
But there’s no substitute for experience, 
And it’s an experience you avoid to have
This is on life’s terms, so put in the work as the rewards are sublime.

I was scared
The people who were calm are no longer here, 
And people have their own fragilities, they too can’t take away your problems or care.

It’s your connection with your higher power
The bruises and super-ego hurt out spirits and souls, 
I thank God for keeping alive today, as the Big Book shall ever go away.
