Dear Dad

​Dear Dad even though you are not here, you are pretty cool,
You said it as it is, and fought against  all of the rules.

We didn’t always see eye to eye,
But when that inevitable day took place, 

when he went away I simple needed a moment to cry as I often see his face. 

But he was cool
A humour git, not everyone got, 
Yet he was popular with all walks of life,
He was from the east end, a tough place at that time to live,
He scrapped and fought, and had that loving nature to give. 

Dear Dad if you are watching now, what would you say?
I know we had a laugh as I wished those times remained. 

You were my friend as I want you always here,
If these politically correct people were around he would tell them to kiss his rear.
