Controlling (Diabetes Poem)

This world would pose many challenges,
And with this insulin dependancy, there are plenty of organ damages.

But we have to fight
And have a ‘off day’, which there’s no control,
This insulin calculation is something we need to manage daily, at the times that are fast and then slow.

We want the best life for us and others,
But the empathy we want, where we want others close to us to understand
Besides, there are plenty of challenges, especially in the deaf ears from which they land.

The syringing of the insulin
The carb counting and managing activity with a D.A.F.N.E. Programme that keeps us alive.
There’s no cheat day that we can have, therefore often we need to contrive.

Say now, I am eating a baguette with meat inside,
The bread is my carb counting exercise which I need to focus on,
Avoid to over inject the insulin, and avoid getting that calculation wrong.
