You live with what I got

Mad?
Slightly eccentric?
Mentally creative vibe?
Diabetes is not for Christmas
It’s forever, as you work to keep yourself alive.

Insulin jabs
When others say “it’s easy”
Do they know what a hypo feels?
A low and then a high
Praying to God to adapt, then you simply sigh.

Each act is a calculation
Balancing life with calm and mediation,
The challenges we face are never easy
And there are those who make life difficult for you when you are looking to make it a little breezy.

Try as you might,
You need to remain strong,
God holds you together
From there the insulin administered can’t do no wrong.

“Hang in there type 1 with diabetes….”
