Discipline (Type 1 diabetes poem)

We want a off day
But we aren’t allowed,
I feel we are fighting a battle, but often looking upon a cloud.

Don’t get me wrong
I have learned so much about myself when I have had insulin dependant condition,
I feel tired and lethargic, but I know I can only relay on my own permission.

I face the fight everyday
People in my situation will also be able to relate,
I know I get on with it, but when I am faced with a hypo then often I am in a right two and eight.. (*state).

I have learned so much about myself
People to avoid when facing a trail,
And the people I don’t mind being around, and if they have empathy they are allowed to be around for a while.

Tomorrow is another day
I may, or may not see it, that depends on God’s final say
I know I have been advocate for this condition, as I am blessed to be here for today.
