They were strange times
We didn’t have a phone,
Like just myself typing this message to you,
We had pen, paper and copydex, that additive glue
We don’t speak now
We abbreviate every single word,
Back then had a substance, lots of love and beautiful summers and TV that we didn’t always want to watch,
Now it’s that quick fix of You tube and that dopamine high,
Please I prefer to reminisce the 80s, as I am sorry to say goodbye to those times.
Race relations were high back then,
Black and whites didn’t mix, which made us some of us cry,
Now we can integrate without questions asked,
Back then we felt sticking to your own was often a task.
Music was more upbeat
To the levels you can’t compare today,
But we need to encourage, as all we solely have is this day.
We played music on tapes or record a
Watched film at a schedule where we had to be prompt or you would miss,
Times today we use a phone instead of writing a list.

"None of us can stay positive all of the time.... my theory and practical is this, if you pray everyday, be nice to that one person every day (or better still more people), then the world will have that little more love to show and perhaps you will feel better....Anger solves nothing, love creates harmony, encouragement, hope and love..." What about me? I have type 1 diabetes, love the arts and I am a god fearing man (I am sure you can tell)...... I am also on IG type '@jaypoeticsensitivity.
