Analysing, second by second and minute by minute
You know you have to be totally with it.
Calculating carbs
Sugar alcohol too
There’s so much progress made
Yet you can’t second guess carbs, diminish that thought which simply fades.
And there are those around you, whose empathy lacks
Yet you keep organising, getting your systems to work
Otherwise a hypo shall make you go a little mad
Yet it’s amazing when you are fathoming out, and avoid this to make you sad.
We all have conditions to manage
Yet this type 1 diabetes is a constant try,
Pumps, pens, fast and slow acting insulin to keep you alive
Praise the lord, as one day there shall be a cure…. which shall feel a lottery prize.
