What’s it like to have type 1 diabetes?
Well it’s not a barrel of laughs,
But you do develop a dark sense of humour as the hypos or hypers are a tremendous wrath.
And there that motive, where everyone is your doctor,
When actually it’s you that in charge,
“Have you done this. or have you done that?”
F@ck, don’t you think I have tried, anything to balance the numbers
I not bothered if high or low,
It’s the long term repercussions that linger and won’t go.
But you keep trying,
Struggles are part of the game,
And there are those di@kheads who ask so many questions but don’t know how you feel,
Just ignore them naturally, they are too fickle to understand your auto-immune deal.
There are those dramatic types, the ones you want to swear at or even give them a punch,
The ones who think “one size fits all” but really they don’t know what’s the hunch.
So you stay silent…
Deal with the hypos or hypers the best you can,
Remember, you are the doctor of your own type 1 condition; and that’s the moment you take a stand.
“Living with type 1 diabetes….”

"None of us can stay positive all of the time.... my theory and practical is this, if you pray everyday, be nice to that one person every day (or better still more people), then the world will have that little more love to show and perhaps you will feel better....Anger solves nothing, love creates harmony, encouragement, hope and love..." What about me? I have type 1 diabetes, love the arts and I am a god fearing man (I am sure you can tell)...... I am also on IG type '@jaypoeticsensitivity.
