How do we cope (diabetes poem)

​How do we cope?
Us types, with type 1 diabetes,
We are upbeat, generally fit and not at all defeatist.

We inspire 
Look at the positives, but when the s@it hits the fan… it DEFINITELY does,
It’s one of the most off putting conditions on the health spectrum,
And it delves a multitude of auto immune attacks,
That isn’t perception, that is ultimate facts.

We struggle 
and we do get on with it, despite people thinking we can stop a hypo attack at anytime!
So Imagine falling off a cliff, and not stopping… so no! we are not at all fine! 

So f&ck off leave us alone
Sorry, as this is a horrible feeling,
And yes, we have heard that saying ‘I can’t live with that’,
We need to regain our composure, and that’s what place we with this sinking condition are currently and always at.
