Learning each day (Diabetes poem)

Type 1 diabetes is a journey,
And the formula to administer is quite worthy,
You have patience and learn to be methodical in your approach,
And then you have to react when facing a hypo attack,
That insulin can carry a load on your already head and back!

You learn because you look to stay alive,
Some glorify the condition by wanting to strive.

Some people can help because they are calm under pressure,
When you face an ordeal like I said you seek to go to bed and welcome some rest with leisure.

You see, the day is never easy
And the people around do need to keep calm,
Your mind is whirling… twirling like something crazy happening inside,
and there is the organ damage which unfortunately you are unable to subside.

The problem is the recovery,
It can totally spoil your day,
Wanting a new pancreas to release those red beta cells to release insulin that opens the enzymes to break food down,
Making sure you stay focused you don’t feel you have been transported unexpectedly to another town! 🤣
