I’ll have that off you!

​My Father, the one and only
I miss him but I talk to him daily, so I don’t feel lonely.
He’ll say: “I’ll have that off you”
Referring to the iPhone I was going to hand down.
I thought: “buy your own, you sod”
How could you refuse him? so often I would approve with a nod.

I miss him
But I must confess, I did love his sayings;
“Alright my Gal, Roy and Dawnie”
I was making fun of him, but in reality it was his language to speak, which I didn’t find at all corny.

He was a p@ss taker 
A proper geezer, one you’ll never meet again, 
He was my friend and my Dad
And a person I would give my own life for… a lot for, but not a tad.

Yes, I do miss him
But I love his sayings more,
He was a cheeky sod at times, and would help anyone in need,
But don’t take his kindness for weakness, he was no one’s fool… and that’s definite… indeed.
