​No one can please everyone
Know your limits and your skills, 
Everyone has something to bring to the table, and that is the start of the deal.

No one is perfect
No one can always be right, 
That job comes from your higher power talking,
Listen to wisdom through a prayer, that’s the place I choose to be walking.

I rather stay away from those situations, as I know consequently won’t encourage anyone’s zest.

We surround ourselves with people we love and care
And pray afar from those who instigate and think they are funny, 
Their opinions shall always be different from yours, so don’t get roped in… even if the outcome is influenced by money.

I walked past a homeless guy today, 
He asked for something to help him through the night,
I was not helpful this time; what are the authorities doing to provide these vulnerable people sight?

We live in crazy times, 
Replaced by computers for once was a manual job, 
The human connection is getting diminished like a wastrel or slob. 

So love
Move forward with this life you hold, 
You are no better than anyone else as the truth shall be told.

I have tried....

I have tried to live my life, and 'it is what it is', so I shall say with words I feel 

I rather be with God, so peacefully, in my bed and that we show kindness which should be natural and real.

 

And there have been so many hasty decisions, 

I am not going to take my life, 

I'm here living in the present, so perhaps you can follow this path of 'trying' as most situations can have potential of rife. 

 

I tried, and I won't until the very end

I have tried taking my life twice, but God kept me here seeking to defend, 

And to be fair, the attempt felt liberating, 

and by God's grace he didn't me to go, so I need to stay here patiently waiting. 

 

I tried, and I can acknowledge I won't be liked by everyone.... especially today

and for me, that isn't  very important, I love God first, therefore, I shall love others, ... but for now I rather they stayed away.

 

And to be honest? If they 'don't get me'? That is okay with me to 

I have already been let down by the system, as today we are all firefighting and don't have a clue!

What’s happened to good manners?

​In the past people queued
And never jumped in front,
People were less frantic, yet technology and peoples chaos has caused us to hunt.

People back then had manners
People said ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ all of the time,
Now conversations take place when people over talk each other, as respect is a distant trait.. well that’s what I find!

People can be nosy c.it’s, but that’s been there before, 
People were more meticulous back then, now their speed has caused peoples head to feeling sore. 

Authorities don’t look out for regular folk, and I mean people who have been here for many years,
Now we are living in austerity.. and along with that instilled carnage and fear.

​I pray for calm in a world full of noise
I pray for light when silence is my direction to poise. 

I pray for humility in world that goes at a frantic pace
I pray for others to endure but remain still when the hurt comes from haste.

I pray for friends when I see their health declining,

I pray for calm when words don’t need to be mentioned,
I pray for a fallen world which is evident to see, 
And that staying is the remedy to be. 

I pray for the day when the heavens open to lead us to be free,

Not bothered if you upset someone? Even though you never meant it to harm
A set of words then become offensive and often cause an alarm.

Are you sad, happy or mildly balanced,
You never know what is in-store

When I speak to God, I feel calm, open and bright 
Yet the tears run down my cheeks, but there is nothing causing a fright.

Today and today....

 The day is almost over

some people have made it, 

some it's their last time on earth

all we know, we have failed and succeeded, for what it's worth.

 

We have loved

We have lost on the way, 

Some people who are not here have made it a melancholy feeling 

Sometimes you shout out to God, and start seething. 

 

But the fact is we are all going to a new home one day

This shell we live in is only temporary, 

we will be fit, large, intelligent and emotionally damaged

There is a hope that is limiting, but it can be managed.

 

We have the capacity to be kind

We have the capacity to be loving

We have the capacity to be silent and not say a word,

I rather over talk overs and choose not to disturb.

 

There is a light in us all

Let it be meditative and humble,

people with secular vision you can politely say 'goodbye' too

and pray to God for his wisdom from the moments we aim to ensue.

It is a disease that cannot be avoided, as we get out of those situations with courage and guile that is paramount.

You can’t see the timing of the message that these words are said
You wonder how to overcome the situation, and perhaps the times you need to rest your head.

You are good enough to pull through, despite what you may think,
If you keep putting yourself down, then the inevitable happens when you avoid to sink.

You need to put in the work
You need to find a way through,

​What’s the deepest question you shall ask?
You need to be honest but some people look for an argument, so they are the people when you wear a mask.

I rather be humble, be still, silent and be at peace’
There is hope in us all, tame the child and manage the beast.

The world is full of trickery, and we can also be part of that. 
I have friends who say: “you can say anything to me”
Then you say your opinion, then discover your words cause an argument so in reality the ‘safe space’ isn’t safe.. can’t you see?

The deepest question from me, 
Will there ever be peace, but I know now that won’t take place, ‘
There are too many frantic people out there who cause haste.

So I avoid the drama, stay still and say what I need to say

​There are questions which no one knows the answer of,
I rather not answer those questions, because the questioner can simply sod off..🤣.

The question needs to be removed from the news, 
who feed what you want to hear, 
they speak sh.t and add by stirring up fear . 

It’s messy out there
and the uncertainty is taking place all the time, 
it’s not about race, sexuality, gender which have taken precedence 
Those are pointless conversations, often what I see as rather dense.

you need to address the issues of homelessness and the people born here who are put in the bottom of the pile, 
and the other topics taking over, as those topics have no backbone and shouldn’t possess any guile.

These are words that can be seen as contentious and rude
but at least this is my opinion, and I rather die fighting by attacking the politicians who intrude. 

Help the people who were here first’
is that so much to ask, 
but the authorities have put people in this position today
as one day we will wake up from this nightmare and everything shall go back to being okay.

​You don’t know how good you are?
We live in the ‘moment’, so we say: “we get on with it” along with a forlorn of words that can take you far.

We look for answers from questions others pose
We live in a chaotic world that does not know,
We ask questions and don’t know the answer and can’t be bothered to find out… 
The answer is already inside you without second guessing 
There is hope for everyone, these emotions won’t be ‘messing’.

We are in a world that struggles
But we remain here to ‘fight the fight,’
Through God we can crave to reach a higher place
Staying humble and then later looking to embrace.

We are here to live the dream before shedding a tear
To give a talk in public, and have nothing or nobody to fear. 

We are here because God brought us to this place
Then there is the road when you have ‘free will’, so before you do anything pray first and then trace.

You may not be for everyone
And not everyone shall be for you,
Just be your authentic self and talk this walk with God… that’s my suggestion where you can renew.

You keep away from family and friends because you don’t want them to see you like this,

Rejection from the system

​No one likes rejection 
Asking for systems to help you on this so called mighty land,

​You see, the light is there

You can be struggling with addictions 
And add domestic abuse, which filters through, 
I may hit a nerve right there, 
But the fact is, we all have the capacity to show love and towards us care.

Addictions and abuse is clearly not right, 
Facing trauma never entice, 
But you can go one way or the other, 
Become angry and or move to God
Nothing is perfect out there, nor you require anyone’s ‘up and down’ accepting nod.

Looking to be a ‘Peer’

​We give from our hearts 
As I agree a person; we are more than volunteers, 
We look towards better outcomes and perhap need to call ourselves ‘peers”?

It’s a message
Because we go above and beyond, 
Task orientated systems to look at a service where supports of addictions is offered,
We are working as a collective, looking at a trajectory place which we yet haven’t reached
The point of these exercises is look at service where we can develop and potentially teach. 

Some peers are comfortable for carrying the fort, 
Some look at strategies and review the operations which may rise or face a level of risk to cause a fault.

we are looking at support at the end of the day,
Are we focusing on governance or other commissioning cycles that shall have their say?

We review every 3 months?
And talk thereafter, 
we are focusing on better outcomes for the client as we know this isn’t always happy every after…

However, we do try our best
We give our lived experience point of view, 
I know personally I had to stop drinking alcohol, otherwise I wouldn’t be here,
There is plenty to review constantly.. so please focus in line with momentum, which shall arid any future fear.

​I don’t care who you are;
Regardless if you are an academic, even if you struggle with language… the spirit within you can make you go far.

Waiting to push the next set of heavy weights,
There is angst within myself, so what am I to debate? 

I am ready to push 
Go for it hard, 
Motivation is prevalent as there is no holds barred. 

I am here at 5am doing for what I only truly know,
I am ready to fight and have plenty to show.

As long there is breath in my lungs and a will to succeed,
People tend to know me for my laughter and quick witt,
When I know I can be a bit of a ‘git’.

We all know laughter is the best medicine,
It has a place where darkness makes your familiar,
When in truth is the two truths are not too dissimilar!

80s films..

​The 80s genre
What a wonderful mix, 
Today it’s all about computers to generate our entertainment 
Back then it was driven by spirit of will and sheer attainment.

‘Superman 2, 3 and 4, and ‘Back to the future’ to name a couple
Then there was ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’ And ‘Elmo’s fire’, 
Along with ‘Tron’ and ‘Bladerunner’ which were futuristic desire. 

It wasn’t perfect with aesthetic bodies and armoured bodied suits 
As the comedy flourished with ‘Police academy, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
And to start that decade there was that classic titled: ‘Staying Alive’.

There are so many that I have probably missed, 
Rocky 2, 3 and 4 
and Michael Keaton’s ‘Batman’ which brought us to the edge of our seats and core.

There was ‘Beatle Juice’ and ‘Beverley Hills Cop’
As these were the films that kept our spirits raised as this era paved the way to new array… the ones’ that mean a lot.

​That sort of love never leaves
What you see in your heart, trust me, your inner power.. you shall always receive. 

The person may have left
But there are there in your heart, 
the love of others passing for their spirit is merely the start.

They say when you die you won’t see them again!
In my personal opinion there is always a transparency for which you can depend.

We pray for the love they provided
And even if they struggled, but you continue to love them so, 
There is a prayer that is mindful and shan’t ever go.

Death is inevitable 
That can’t ever be stopped,
When you have lost a loved one, that feeling shall always mean a lot.

For you Ruth… God spoke to me❤️

​God spoke to me
I was only going for a coffee to say a prayer, 
Then when you walked in God said: ‘your suitor is now here’.

I didn’t know what was going on?
I was phenomenally perplexed, 
I said to God to myself: “what’s going on?”
God then replied “you know me son, I am never wrong”.

So I thought if God sends you a blessing accept with with arms open wide, 
Mind you, you are beautiful Ruth as this wasn’t a normal date through the past trials I confide. 

You may pose questions I don’t understand
Then iron does sharpen iron, 
Even though one day we shall be entering into Zion. 

You know God speaks to me by asking me to write in a poetic verse
As these words just flow and later could be rehearsed. 

So as I say ‘I LOVE YOU’ that comes from within 
Thank the Lord for this moment of love 
It’s a blessing which fits like a glove.

There is a time to talk..

​There is a time to talk
There is a time to simply keep still, 
There is a time you require to be at peace with you
Looking towards integrity, and for the goals which you pursue.

And even if you don’t know what you are about to achieve?
Go with it, and if you lack the patience to get the job done then I am sure you’ll find something up your sleeve.

People can be c..ts!
That is without a shadow of doubt, 
Even if you ask why they are who they are?
My personal opinion there is calmer out there, and that isn’t that far.

It doesn’t matter what you think of others, 
There is a defining moment that can make your bone shudder,
So if something tries to get underneath your skin
Speak to yourself, and can then ‘a p…k’, that shall bring out a grin….🤣

So speak your truth,
If others don’t agree, then that is fine,
You are still a great person, regardless what others define.

​Believe it or not, you are not alone
If you believe that, then you need to ask what is now set in stone?

There is something out there, 
You may have not found it yet!
You are better than you know, as nothing in this life is a sure bet.

You are never alone 
I can promise you that, 
Yes, it depends what state is occurring in your mind, 
But ask yourself this? At what point to yourself that you were ever kind?

I walk away from pessimism, even though I know it exists 
I rather do things on my terms, then I have it on my conscious for mistakes that I didn’t dismiss.

Why God left me to stay

​it wasn’t my time
God stopped me from calling it a day,
I asked why he wouldn’t let me go?
Then three weeks later God asked me to write a poem as someone else suffered woe.

So I wrote a poem only three weeks before I attempted to take my own life,
The words saved him, as if he succeeded,he would have left behind his son and his wife. 

I asked God “why” as I wanted to leave, 
I felt I had nothing else to offer or anyone to hold onto, 
Basically I was mentally gone and entirely through.

God kept me on as he has a purpose for us all,
Even at a time when you felt you couldn’t take it anymore and waiting to fall.

​There are so many questions 
When the fact you simply proceed,
You find out the solution and then aim to succeed. 

There are people who will hold you back,
Planting a seed to make you retract,
God’s blessings are there to fight
God has a plan for you within his light.

There will always be questions 
For people who think they are intellectually eureka types to in light ,
They don’t know the answer but they can’t come up with a solution,
A bit like a Daily Mail reader who live on  the premise of a delusion.

So get the job done 
That is what’s required,
Then we are all different after all, and on occasions that can be admired.

Hour by hour

You can learn so much from having this condition,
We look to have a day off, but you can’t!
And if you let go and eat what you want.. there is no chance.

Well that isn’t entirely true…!
You can control as we all know what to do.

The medical team can guide
They know the textbook inside out, 
But living with it, you want to unleash and occasionally shout.

Imagine a poor child with this condition shall have this until the very end
Myself, 23 for years… and there are days I can’t fathom not defend. 


A CGM or blood test, followed by carb counting too,
Then the administration of insulin, that’s the moment you need to get into a rhythm
Adapting to a degree when you need to adhere to a system.

Some of us become take risks with the amount of insulin injected
Yet nothing in life (even this?) can ever be perfected.

​What can you do?
Accept people fo who they are, 
If they annoy you, should shoot them discretely.. they soon shall go far..🤣.

What can you do?
Being sensitive doesn’t help, when people trying to get under you skin?
The fact is God has your back, so you laugh right back with a God blessed grin.🤣

They say there’s 28 muscles to make a frown
compared to 4 muscle to have a grin,
People can f@ck off, so continue laughing at them as they never win..🤣

Be kind to your heart 
You are the most important that you see, 
Praying to God overtakes the person you are inside
Say goodbye to others, and pray for others… that is most… when you’ve tried.

Actually you saved my body, heart and mind, 
The heart is humble, as I am no longer blind.

Rile me! Then you need to speak to the Father above
Actually he is everywhere with moments of tremor and teaspoon of love.

God is always with me, as prayers lift your spirit to reset.

The addict in us all. 🙏🏽

​An addict, most of us can admit
Therefore an addict we are, therefore need to submit. 

We pray to God and follow the NA or AA steps
The surrendering the moment we can’t overcome or able to forget. 

The truth is there 
Staring at you right between the eyes, 
Your journey to others shouldn’t be at all a surprise. 

We learn about our physiology, addiction and mental health
Forgetting about the issues by our own with an instalment of stealth.

You live for today, that’s all you can ask
May hope surround you, so don’t go back as the new you no longer needs to go fast.

​Making the impossible possible
Can only come through faith and not by sight,
The enlightenment of a prayer is the essence for seeing what is bright.

Don’t stop
Do something which makes you question,
There is more in this life than a text book lesson.

People will stay and people shall leave 
Stay with an impossible question where the answer is unexplainable to retrieve .

The light 
The fight 
The not knowing where this may go,
Yes we have all take risks and fallen short, but at least you went with your heart and didn’t go slow. 

You went with the decision your heart
As well as your head
Pray for making a decision, this is the light which you have already fed.

​I simply thank God for every day that I breathe
And that the angst taken away is a blessing so I continue to believe.

There will be people trying to rile your soul
They are simply prayed for, as you can ignore…. And then let them go.

I thank God for the day which has in-store
The protection and love is never ending, as the blessings I crave for more. 

These are simple words
Not of academia or intellectual standing, 
I know God loves you and me.. and this is the place I shall be landing.

​Today is a blessing that we always aim to find
Tomorrow is unknowing, but you pray for the moment to feel special and sublime. 

We look towards today and thank God that we are here
I know there is plenty for hope and love to declare. 

I pray for the addicts who are looking to overcome this wildest of challenge
I pray for the light to be lifted and that life forevermore is not at all damning. 

I follow the day with the light it shine,
Even if it’s raining there is a light to break through the clouds of rain that unwind.

I pray for the people to be kind day in and day out
And that God’s love is everlasting and worth a shout.

So goodbye as this journey comes to an end
