Free love and care for the world,
The sound of the revolution rolled in a bubble put in the whirl.
Their were the Kinks who sang: ‘Lola’
And The monkeys with ‘I’m a believer’
And then England became the world football champions of 1966..
Alf said they would win…victory was deserved as glory came in the mix.
There was Woodstock festival
With songs like ‘Purple haze’ and ‘Hey Joe’
The brilliance of Jimi Hendrix, whose artistry simply showed.
There was Cat Steven’s with ‘Matthew and Son’s’ and ‘Ruby love’
A handsome artist who sang with his heart to the world all over,
His eclectic of words shall never be seen as a walkover..
The essence from this era was to be uplifted, humbled and go all out to enjoy
If only we can all adopt a bit of the 1960’s today
Then again we have already turned to the next page.
