How do we learn to fight the biggest fight?

Many challenges to face

many things to work through and overcome,

Recovering from a struggle that traumatised the mind,

speak to your higher power, words can seek what you should find.

Remember, this could happen to anyone!

so don’t beat yourself more than you already have,

pray and stay strong, despite feeling weak

there is hope out there, the first step is what you look to tread on and then seek.

Of course you are scared

we have all been on that road,

life in recovery is a passage you shall offload.

I was scared

wouldn’t you be?

a sniff of Charlie a drop of wine or whiskey to paralyse the mind,

stay with recovery where people will help;

from that first moment you were elated and then later pick yourself up after you felled.

Being human has its trials

Aiming to keep your spirits up and refuse to drown,

often comedy comes through tears if a clown.

Moving forward is part of the growth

yet humanity kicks in,

blessings are there,

angels brings your humanity to share.’

Do what works for you,

struggles are ever lasting

especially when humanity sometimes doesn’t have a clue.

We struggle through and learn to win,

looking to the skies when all appears bleak,

God is light turned from the dark

God gives you blessings when through the moments that hark.

God is your counsellor, which once you wouldn’t comprehend.

God is humble

God is retreating,

words through the night and prayers won’t be fleeting.

God is kindness

God is love

God saves people, end those who doubt,

God holds when you are angered and shout.

God is teaching

God brings you the truth,

God is also taking your abuse.

God is real

God is the creator,

And God protects you during storms and trials,

you won’t be understood for quite a while.

God is hope

during times of pain,

one thing for certain you won’t be lonely again.

We break through traumas faced

some just get on with the focus in the mind,

others are not in your position,

then an angel arrives to capture your heart in humble fruition.

You think there is no hope!

you make mistakes and fall down time and time again,

you may turn to drink, or eat to excess

refusing the blessings that you no longer want to confess.

The pain,

the road only you can understand and endure,

people thinking they know you more you know yourself,

how do they understand you more? When it’s you who grows inside and learn the journey to the core.

Once you put your faith in the higher power,

I struggled once when I felt I needed to empower.

God brings souls in,

A victory for God is a guaranteed win,

love is real

and love provides hope

pessimists can stay away

I know in God we shall be okay.

This isn’t 99% in, it’s 101% which is all or nothing,

you can’t solve all peoples woes

and remember the nice ones can eventually become your foes.

If you think you are alone, then I am sorry you feel like that,

say your prayers and thank the higher power what his son done,

Do you think?

Do you think I wanted to still be here?

not having my dad around, when he protected my fear.

yes there was God,

the calmness instilled in my heart,

the light of my world which once left, but now shan’t ever depart.

you see, I tried to take my life

wishing I was truly dead,

a couple of injections of insulin planned before I go to bed.

People around me have changed

I’ve noticed their mortality as they don’t know how long they have left,

i refuse the people I choose not to speak to, as it’s God’s affirmation which I find best.

I won’t do anything silly now

to be honest, I have found a new life which I rather follow,

yes, I am cheeky but you know where you stand, which isn’t hollow.

Time moves fast

but the heart can honestly remain still,

actions which take place and provide a brand new start

the mind is full of tricky, yet the sound still pounding within my heart.

Every scar carried

every victory won,

Who can stop you from drinking?

It can only come from God, otherwise you’ll be sinking.

That gasp of air

the need to elevate to what is a quick fix

others fickle opinions from others can no longer be the twist.

God intervenes

It’s the help of God who takes control,

humans can’t find this path, it’s the higher power that can support this flow.

You aim to hold back

you relax and say: ”I’ll stop…tomorrow”

”no”, God is in now in your corner and wants to overcome your sorrow.

Please help me God!

I won’t go back,

addiction almost killed me, where my life was on the rack.

Help me God…

I know the Lord done this! as we both kneel on his throne.

When things were a little slower

Today things are so so fast

the pace of music in your ears and that burnt you out until the very last.

The 80’s were fun,

by all means they weren’t perfect,

but you spent time with your friends,

and not pull your phone out.. you know? That kind of trend.

we had computer games which took ages to load,

board games and that game called twister, which may still be around?

we focused on pen and paper more and had our feet firmly on the ground.

Cars were not as advanced but they did take us from A to B

and trains were a little more cramped but we talked to each other, and didn’t got involve in a text or twitter debate, the words could be contentious but where often left to be.

Today God and I are really talking..

praying and blessings, on the path of where Jesus and I are walking.

You see, I should have been dead

its been two years when I injected 180 units of fasting insulin

when all I wanted was to be with my Dad, who passed way,

but the Father intervened as I was wrestled to stay.

I had enough

And I thought people didn’t care,

my father was my rock,

he put me right, when I wanted to mock.

I went to a home with people who cared

but after years of knowing each other, people’s temperaments I could no longer endear.

You see, I am loving and wanting to give a little of myself

but debates were offered,

and to be honest those conversations strip my spiritual honour.

So as tomorrow soon arrives

and I am here to be thankful to God for another day

No more tears, and if they are? then it’s happiness and peace for which shall remain.

My testimony was in the making to declare

broken and thought this world didn’t care,

the heart breaking minute by minute

God then touched my heart and he accepted me within it.

It was a powerful move

a prayer from a friend who wanted me okay,

normally I would ask politely for ‘God botherers’ to simply go away.

You see, I never knew who this ‘God’ was

curious and seeing what my new friend had in his heart,

I said: “I want some of that” and that’s just the start.

The blessings sooner followed

and I don’t mean a lottery win,

this kind of boldness when I felt God’s presence there,

yes there will be trial and tribulations but ultimately it’s the Father who is nearby here.

Today, I face challenges, just like us all

but I can accept the Father, through a prayer and at the time I fall,

so as I walk this path to reach the kingdom of heaven,

this spiritual battle is already won by the almighty Father

a Road of discovery, and in my heart a happy ever after❤️🙏🏽.

Doesn't matter what other people say

even through wisdom, you need to discern and pray.  

People will always try to answer,

talk politics or transcribe what already has been said

those sayings need to put aside as I now lay my head. 

 

I rather pray to God,

then there is the answer in God, that's a place I rather choose.

say thanks to God and learn to relax

speak to someone, or best still pray to God when you feel you don't know

We have tried our best

we have all faced enduring tests, 

we are very good at knocking ourselves down, 

It's that ironic? A few muscles to pull a grin rather than display a frown!

 

So I shall say this, you are amazing

you don't allow anything to cause you to feel dishevelled and unfading.

You are on this road because you may have to reach out to the universe and God

You had your moments of hardship, and panicked when facing a rod. 

 

You are on this road to find out the truth

someone may give good advice, but in your heart you feel uncouth.  

 

So keep on trying, 

you are never alone, 

there is always God to speak to you, 

a conversation which gives you a chance to pray for gratitude and all the blessings to thank

It can only be God

when two worlds collide,

love is the essence where God has your dreams to confide.

Connection through God’s watch is not far away,

love is about two souls shining,

Not a day goes by

 When you miss someone

for whatever reason?

alive or no longer on this earth?

working through all these emotions that enter the mind

I seek God first, that's the place I humble and where I can be kind. 

 

Under my own will, I shall struggle to find a way 

I need peace, but will I get that in heaven at the time God says. 
 

Dad, Nan and Auntie I miss you

It's not about me,

It's because your presence is so much missed,

including the hugs and the kiss.

 

I know you are fine

you are on the perennial earth, 

 no arguments, debates and pointless political chat

The almighty is looking after you, that's  

We know when it’s time

We see the light

from the dark place we once were,

we have faced the trials and tribulations

and then await the time of a revelation.

Loving a higher power provides a guided angle,

the place you once were is now untangled.

Remember, you were created for a reason

and yes! You’ll face a trying season,

so don’t look away, seek God’s love first

Blood sugars rising

Blood sugars going high

really? I want to cry,

then again, I’ve been in this situation time and time again

needing my internal pancreas back to produce insulin once more

this balancing act is a drain and a chor.

Bloody hell

the struggle is persistent,

the staying calm can try your patience each waking time,

calculating carbs doesn’t always align.

What ratio are you if you have this disease?

This world of this auto immune deficiency isn’t always a breeze!

Yet this calculation is always there

1 or more units needing to be injected to balance the carbs I declare.

Today they were high

when I thought they could be low,

I’ll get to the bottom of this condition, that’s how we get to know.

There are days you are up and then down

some put music in their ears to escape the day ahead,

I pray daily to God and tell him the Father what kind of day I’ve led.

There are days you are looking for answers that are already in-front,

you may be on a wind up, but the other person isn’t entertaining your behaviour…. to be perfectly blunt.

You may hear a sound to start a new idea,

The questions that come through that thought which may cause fear.

You see, you are more powerful than the stars which shine a night,

there is humility without money, that just causes you to bite.

Be at peace with God and then you,

there are endless questions where the answers are already waiting for you to pursue.

there is spiritual determination, the higher power is always in control.

they aren’t your problem, their connection isn’t there for you to take.

You shall learn the walk of life

old me: how are you son?

young me: I want to party and have some fun,

old me: appreciate the people that you have around,

young me: you won’t leave me, you shall always be around.. that’s what I personally found.

old me: listen, life is temporary, yes, do follow your dreams,

don’t hold back, as the world is full of pessimism that holds back your self esteem.

young me: I just want to have fun and live my life,

And as long I don’t hurt anyone, what’s the worse that can happen?

old me: as long as you are safe then the path is ready to walk,

as long you are kind, attentive and respectful to your elders, you will avoid feeling less fraught.

young me: I am doing my best but can’t seem to always get it right,

old me: be patient and diligent, from that patience you shall have open sight.
