The devils curse is often there, the one who aims to divide.

A hug is all I need

This condition is unpredictable 

And can make you feel dishevelled and fazed

As often you feel when you are outside in a maze.

So you become assertive 

And with that you make sure you have no time to further question,

This is your time to manage diabetes, especially when having a hypo

Decision making needs to be decisive wherever you go.

This condition is challenging and a pain in the ass

You can’t be uncertain; and that comes across as stoic

The last thing others think, is that you’ve starting to be heroic.

Administer insulin after a blood sugar check

Then there is the food you need to calculate, as all hands for this task are on deck.

So be patient with us

We have plenty to consider

As our organs are constantly impacted and someday shall prematurely wither.

But this condition is a full time condition which I truly want to say goodbye.

People saying: “I can’t inject myself”

Or condescending by saying: “you do so well!”

Let me tell you this, this auto immune condition can be quite a moment of hell.

Please Lord fight this for all our sake

Yes, you discovered insulin through scientists like Banting and McCleod

Yet it’s the replacement inside that want to be found.

I speak as a champion of this condition 

Ignore the arguments that I often confront, they are easily swiped away

If you have this condition then you are allowed to talk; otherwise I’ll ignore you as I fight this bloody thing for another day.

Thinking can be over done

You can’t have that!

Often a word said to a type 1 diabetic,

Or as we prefer to say ‘a person with diabetes’..

So allow me to explain on how you can treat us.

Yes, there’s a calculation involved

There’s an equation that includes to eat that cheesecake or carby dish,

Not the ‘plastic doctors’ who think they know your condition more, therefore, ought to dismiss.

People think they are helping

But we own this condition, not you,

It’s grating on the ear, when others say: ‘you can’t have that…’

‘Well actually I can even eat that chocolate bowler hat’.

Stay at peace with your condition 

People might have questions or even ask: ‘how do you get that condition?’

Well my pancreas decided to die… as that is simply my position.

I take insulin to live.. I have no choice

If I remain humble, focused and learn the system I need

Then one day you may get the gist to how I can feed.

Calm is unsettling to those who crave noise,

Remain still, shoulders back and show plenty of poise.

Lord thank you for the eyes which I open today

Your blessings are amazing, as sometimes I don’t know what to say.

May the week for my sisters and brothers be bright and humble 

And that the challenges ahead prevent any kind of stumble.

Lord we love you as blessings come in the mix

And sometimes the hopes we look to acheive, through you they are often fixed.

Despite the weather we look to the light

and if things are not perfect, somehow you make them turn bright.

Peace of mind

Comes in many facets, 

Most importantly of all, it’s your relationship with the Father that truly has it. 

You stay focused

The jug could be empty, so then look to overfill.

Stay humble

Thank you Lord

I am looking for that place which has peace,

It’s sometimes hard to find in the very least.

You can enter into murky waters 

Suppress the feelings you have inside,

There is hope through you Father, it isn’t about ‘getting on with it’, it’s about speaking your truth to confide.

You are not alone, none of us are

The Father gives us free will, that perennial glorious star.

We are who we are

Intense and searching,

Calmness in love

Love is a weapon to calm

Love is a joyful feeling to delve into our charm,

Love is a openness to bring you conversation 

Love is an elevation of hope and refutes stagnation.

Calm is the place we all need to reach

Yes, work hard but learn there are moments out there you should never breach. 

Say a prayer each day for those you love and not so sure about, 

I stay with that word ‘hope’ that shall banish the angry of a shout. 

Love each other and learn to have the right team,

God is your motive, and is everything and more for what it seems.

You are blessed

A blessing doesn’t mean you deserve 

It’s from the Father who through his son is able to serve.

The number of times we have broken down and asked “why?”

Then a blessing is marked through the tears that you cry. 

The point is, the Father loves you

Nor will he ever forsake,

Confess with your mouth and say: “Jesus is Lord”

This is a poignant moment when pen is mightier than the sword. 

The love of God is so powerful at a time you cannot resist 

The love for each other is humble and evidently there, 

Simply pray my child, from the good news that these words share.

Do not exploit a giving heart

The strength can not always be there,

The will is evident, but that can be difficult times when you are unable to share.

Giving to the community 

Or persons in desperate need, 

Fighting endlessly is a hard battle to always feed.

Don’t take people’s kindness for weakness 

We are humans with a wanting nature,

Balance your principles and and attained with the goodness of stature.

Do not bleed the purse 

Attain the mind and think of others

And keeping your needs close to your sight

Give of your heart to others but remember it’s about balance… not might.

In a frantic world

It’s amazing 

We all say things that can contradict,

Some want a peaceful life, then say they want a bit of excitement

Myself personally I want to stay with the Father for my spiritual alignment.

I want to be at peace 

I want to be with people who are no longer around today, 

not those who give lip service to sugar coating views, 

Those m people are not my type, therefore, won’t be amused. 

I like to think most people like to do things from a good place,

Then there are the struggles of being let down, when humans work on speed rather than reliable haste. 

The world is chaos 

As we all know people are fractured by the attempts to not disappoint people’s needs,

I like peace and quiet… for now… that shall allow myself to feel freed.

Thank you Father

I have surrendered to you my soul, 

Someone rejected me, yet I felt your presence 

You make me humbled through merciful sense.

The ‘word’ of the Lord is the correct one to follow,

There is no denying there isn’t a Father who is right in ‘here’.

All the traits of yours which I sorely miss,

From turning on the radio to eating any food around

You definitely kept my feet firmly on the ground. 

You are still a character inside me, which I shall sorely miss,

Life today

Life in general always faces a fight

But then you look to something that makes you laugh and keen to enlight.

Looking to the 80s or even times before 

The way things went back then, when things did not workout, 

Now we live in an impatient world when everyone acts like a child and won’t even go out.

Clothes are tighter now and leave little to the imagination,

When before, those garments were more private to parade and less irritation. 

Time you respected as now the phone does it all,

And monitoring our movements was less politically called. 

Looking at the past we can appreciate all things are now a little more quick,

Personally the impatient types need to learn to discern and need to depict.

The books you read, which are full of love and real life

And the sounds from the guitar you play brings us all elevation

Hence the reason of this special celebration.

And the Jordan trainers you love are wonderful for blissful running….

The Lego you build is inspiring and provides many fantastic imagine,

And the puzzles you figure out shows tremendous tangibility, guile and focus

You were created by God

We believe… in the father in heaven

I am a child of God’s after all

Are you are giver or taker of emotion

God’s presence is where your troubles are gobbled up and the removal of their greed.

but it’s greed in our soul where the Devil finds your inner core.
