My diabetes humour

What can I say that a needle hasn’t done before
‘Ouch’, the needle inserted, ego hurts plus I feel a little sore.

To be fair the needle doesn’t hurt
Rubbing my belly, leg, arm or bum and cleaning the area before I ‘move in’ with a needle
This is effing humorous, I am learning a skill which a nurse doesn’t see as timid or feeble.

A mate asked: “how do you cope with your diabetes my friend?”
I replied: “humour is my antidote, sticking things inside of me is part of the laughter which I can’t comprehend.

So as I learn to keep going with this condition, which gives me daily struggles
Learning to laugh out loud through times of unforeseen troubles.

So as I treat myself to a chocolate or perhaps a ice cream
One day I look at this condition as simply a passing phase during this day dream.
