This life

Some of us are scared

Some of us are courageous,

Look to God for salvation

He takes the credit for this moment of salutation.

This life can be daunting

A good team behind you makes it less haunting.

Good people you will capture their positive spirit

But you too need to show diligence but allowing what’s in you.. within it.

This life is fun

This life needs a balance for us as one.

If you are rude to someone caring

How dare you release those angst words that you are daring!

So show the best version of you for the world to see

Be humble, and find yourself, the Father shall set you free.

We ask ‘why’ is that person in my life?

2023

A year I shall never forget 

How did it actually start,

Bullied at in my job so took time out

21 years NHS service and lack of empathy at home

I really didn’t know what path God was leading me to, I never felt so alone.

Then my Dad became suddenly unwell and I didn’t want to stay with Mum,

She says I am rude and obnoxious 

I know I have a big heart but I was moving to become unconscious. 

My Dad decided to go to heaven 

I couldn’t stay at home, as I now know I wasn’t 11.

I went to people who cared for my wellbeing 

The problem I faced is that I wasn’t seeing.

I tried to take my life with a bout of insulin but that failed,

I was struggling with my feelings as all wanted to is shout loud.

The year was uncomfortable 

It was eggshell stuff I couldn’t comprehend,

Despite how hard I was trying to survive

I can only thank the Lord that I am still alive.

Angry

Releasing this awkward feeling 

I hate this notion as I want to let this out

But someone riles you, which leads to an uncanny shout.

I am effing peed off

Someone trying to advise when they haven’t been in your place before,

“Now eff off” you haven’t experienced what I have faced from the moment I was saw.

I know I am not perfect 

Yet controlling people think they know best,

They can simply eff off as through my time with God I shall find my zest.

I am scared when I get into this state

I know I need to snap out of it, as I want to remove this disastrous feeling of hate.

I am saying ‘sorry’ every time someone says something to me

All I want is unbreak these fucking chains and be set free.

God? Why do we have ups and downs?

Sometimes I struggle with my diabetes and people are attempting to make me drown.

Most people like a drama or gossiping trending, 

I rather they go away, as my body and heart belongs to the utmost high

God? There are people talking on a  round table, the context is not all bad

People need to release their opinion, it’s only when childish behaviours demonstrate which leads to a strand.

Life can be a constant struggle, especially when others are not radiating in your presence,

So I prayed to God’s calling to make this situation worth it.

The hand of God deprived England of a World Cup win, 

Which resulted with the Argentines taking away the trophy to Buenos Aries 

So this victory wasn’t one for the fairies.

Ricky Ashley sang “never give you up”

Boris Becker retained his Wimbledon singles title at 18 

And politics had its place when it came to debating.

Liverpool football club did the double for the very first time

You also got more for your money back then, regardless if it was a pound, dollar or a yen.

There were no smartphones but Computers did lift off, 

Popular music was joyous to the ears,

Eze-e, Fat Larry’s band, Tpau and Christopher Cross sung “sailing” 

There was Jaws 1,2 and 3….

There was brilliance in this none digital life 

We didn’t have internet which causes gossip and that bit of rife.

Don’t get me wrong, things do evolve 

But back then the answer to the question was calmer and much easier to solve.

Not argue or fall out when a topic of race divides us,

I try to look at God’s love, then we can ultimately trust.

Wouldn’t it be simple if we could accept, and not be lame.

Of course…, murder, rape and other misdemeanours are disgusting 

God will reign judgement on them which will release combusting.

People, black, white, orange and green

Balanced opinions and loving hearts, not the colour outside.. 

do people want us to gel… or shame and divide…

Basically be a good person, and if ostracising takes place.. call it out

Don’t make it political or mention that group are to blame…

Looking through the pain and the anguish

Losing everything and avoiding to be famished.

Thinking with The S.U.N.

Times before I wondered where to turn?

How did I get myself into this position, is there anything I could can learn?

My mental health was at a block

I used to be strong… you know? Just like a rock!

The S.U.N. encourages engagement, a possible way through

I take many positives from this system, which I am blessed to imbue.

I turned to the left, right, up and then down

Before the S.U.N. movement came into fruition 

I never opened up as I thought not everyone would understand my position, 

as my mental health contrasted like a juxtaposition.

I thank the team to for giving me hope

I thank the team for asking me questions, 

which helped me through getting away from mental health detention.

I feel thankful and now feel blessed 

As cliche that may sound;

A prayer warms love 

A prayer lifts souls,

A prayer is a motivation to encourage

A prayer leads to a positive light

A prayer elevates your trauma, and prevents it to worsen.

A pray is your armour to fight off the devils attack

A prayer is focus with discipline too

Fighting a cold

These are just a few things to occupy the mind

You begin to ask many unnecessary questions, 

So take out that pen or paper, or even book

These are the sort of things to occupy you, and to not over look. 

Be kind to yourself and to those who are kind to you

If they say they are alright and don’t need any help,

Don’t dwell, focus on you, you shan’t need to yelp.

Ultimately be kind to you

God always says to can always speak to him,

The day we need to worship

Pray, and pray that little bit more, 

The more we adore the hope where this life leads

There are always consequences, and often there are times you do bleed.

We sing in worship knowing we are broken

I raise my arms up to sing the joy of a new dawn,

Through the moment over 2000 years ago a saviour was genuinely born.

Some people need to speak

For the reason they have no one to talk to, so need that conversation more

I pray for peace and quiet as volume is something I no longer adore.

There is no need to argue with him, just love him, and through him you shall feel the truthfulness of his zest.

Blessed by those who witnessed this Angel’s presence,

And now the generation of excellence was taking a new dimension, a moment to trance.

Connors beat McEnroe to capture the all England Mens tennis single title,

He won it in five gruelling sets to silence the nay sayers who said he was on his way out

His vigour and determination on the tennis court was followed on from his familiar buoyant chanting shout.

The year was uplifting with many great tracks to embellish popular cultural trend 

As people wore flares, as chatting was the tapestry we all requainted to enthrall our blend.

It’s that time again, Dad would have been 82

He wouldn’t made a fuss, as he just wanted to chill

His presence was wonderful, that was my internal thrill. 

He was a diamond

He was my friend, and the man in-charge,

He wanted a quiet life, but with these erratic Cypriots around he would have my back,

Lord I pray for light

Lord I pray that I am able to turn the other cheeks through fights.

I pray for my brother and my sister

Today I was saved…

Back in 2015 I hated this place called earth

Hating it for its tyranny, and not its humble worth.

Then Jesus arrived 

He said to me “hey I am stilling waiting here”

So now I now look to him when happy or sad..

The tears poured out, I didn’t care what others have now said

I rather speak to the Father, rather listening to the ridiculed news which I’ve just read.

I am here to speak to you as good news of God is here

I was gushing from my eyes, the tears were a breaking point of view

I am not here to be po face, or to be a person alone

I cannot thank God enough, as he breaded this ‘once heart’ of stone.

Matthew. A gift from God

I think of my friend Matthew 

I read the bible and see he has a define gift from God. 

Humble in spirit, and learning all the time 

balanced in hope, and seeking to find. 

We met years ago and arranged a game of tennis,

Every Friday on a summers day 

We swiped the tennis ball as our aspirations blew us away.

He has a kind soul

Who speaks for experiences he is waiting to face,

He needs to realise his name means “God’s gift”

Through his presence I often want to spend time with. 

He is kind, humble and rightly a little guarded, 

His aspirations to fly I pray is never discarded. 

His name brings me light 

I pray he knows the person he is in God one day, 

And that his thinking includes a prayer as we know the spirit shall stay.

It’s the devil who holds you up

The devil is a liar and infamous cheat

The Irons vs Red Devils

Who in this encounter shall become that bit more disheveled?

United had a tradition of consistent winning 

Yet the Hammers possess a history to keep fans excited,

With their flair and skill through other past greats 

Perhaps today has a victory which no one can debate.

The game shall be fluid and enticing to see

My bet is on West Ham, but then again ‘what will be, will be’.

So as this game looms closer to kick off, like I said West Ham are my team to win; A 2-1 win,

As long the day is enjoyable and there’s plenty to cheer

Why give a hard time to those who care for you?

You take their kindness for weakness and not sure how to act?

So this mere understanding returns the favour politely, that’s a fact.

So be polite to you

You deserve that in the least,

Show the person who is kindness to you the humility which you are able to show 

Through that, that’s where you grow. 

The love you have for you

Show that reciprocal example towards them,

The world doesn’t have enough love to show, so move past what is already stemmed.

Are we too efficient, or ready to bleed?

Youth is consumed by technology 

The older generation are slowly passing away,

Places like London are so intense 

The raucousness isn’t soothing of those who feel less..

I rather go and play a sport to see an end goal,

Visibly Invisible

People do judge, and what do they achieve?

So I had a drink and didn’t know it would take me to this place,

Then there’s life to endure, despite what that brings

I need God first, as the drink loosens the mind.. so you then beginning to sing…

The pain is Invisible but visibly you cover the scars

The limit of addiction is so blinded, 

What can you do? Feel unsighted and cry?

At least you are taking the first step, and wondered how you got to this place to where you fry.

People struggling and think no one cares

Perhaps your family are not there for you, and you feel you are holding onto a cliff

Do I do the ‘12 steps’ or read the serenity prayer?

The journey can be long, or short, these are powerful words to openingly share.

I feel invisible but I am a visible soul

I won’t ever leave you my friend, as connection won’t let go.

These words are real, honest and to the point 

I often say a prayer, and unsure where that would lead

I am visibly invisible, as you start again by planting a seed.

The upside down glasses sunk the final ball to bank £60,000 too and made the ginger magician stall.

There was boom, boom Boris 

Whose serve blasted him to an amazing Wimbledon title at a mere 17 years of age,

He leaped here and there to the ball which became an asset to capture his wage.

England boasted one of the best football teams in the world 

And would be able to match any other international team,

Yet it was the likes of France, Germany Argentina and Italy who won the major tournaments as part of their countries unprecedented dreams. 

The Brixton riots took place in a time of austerity 

People hurt through race, anger and a lack of hope

The world always needs a saviour, as Christopher Reeve made us believe through the big screen that he was able to have flew.

Michael Jackson was the king of pop

The style was beautiful 

The creation was so ‘new age’

He may want to talk, and sometimes does not 

The devil will attack through others, who are harming without knowing,

He will pray for you and sometimes refutes what he is showing. 

He is kind in spirit 

And is loving in nature,

He is praying for you all of the time

And times he may prefer to push you away, 

If you get on his nerves he won’t allow you to stay. 

The fact is, his heart is in the right place and he can be quiet when he needs,

He is humble in spirit and can help when you need to have a feed.

The love he holds is powerful and attributed through a  prayer, 

He is a ‘well wisher’ and often shows he is there.

So don’t take him the wrong way, despite his one word answers, 

He is praying for you, and yes he can be impatient and a bit of a chancer.

A voice of reason…

But then again she will say: “I do not know what I am saying”,

Contriving words, is she burnt out? Or a tad swaying.🤣

Her heart is big, and divides men and women quite a lot,

In her heart she is a girly girl, but is also strong from where she needs to stand,

She refuses negativity through her wisdom, but then again there are plenty of people who love her, and will call themselves a fan.

Her kindness is second to none,

She is still grasping the fact we are all different especially through the kindness she has received 

I spoke to God about this person, and the Lord said she is an angel, that’s now what I believe.

It’s how you pick yourself up

Life is unpredictable 

No matter how hard we try to control time and situations,

You often get undone in our own indisposition.

Life is a rollercoaster

One minute you are on top 

The next minute you become unsure,

Remember God did create you and has already achieved overcoming the devil, forevermore.

The light is there 

The punch can hit through,

Ultimately it’s the father in heaven who ultimately chose.

You are perfectly made

But often you resist what the Father gives,

You may not understand his choice, yet it’s the Devil from where the Father has already rid..

The fight continues

I am tired 

Waning and unsure where to turn,

Perhaps my path is different from the one I suspect 

As I humble my heart, through the challenge that’s worth it.

Time passes by

My eyes filled with uncertainty and a lack of hope,

God is always good, refuse to hang off a rope.

God is awesome 

God is the light, 

God is your source, and one that should excite.

Depleted, but I know I need to thrive

I know through God I have no choice but through him I am alive.

Time cannot be owed 

Pain always exist,

Try to stay focused and avoid to becoming remiss.

Recovery

It’s a road no one can ever anticipate

It starts with a drink and then you are waning and then often inebriated.

 

The journey is long, yet sometimes it can be short

I pray to God everyday, “how did I get to this place” I later retort.

I lost my focus and decided to take a sip

Not knowing this sign of change was more than a blip.

The path is supportive, when around a new family to restore

I looked to the heavens for a magical ingredient, and then some more.

Please don’t feel alone, all it takes is to pick up the phone and confess this is now ‘you’

Recovery in whatever misuse circumstances, you are strong enough to pursue.

We all started somewhere

We all have a beginning 

And that shall also lead to an end,

Don’t worry, what I am about to say for the rest of the words, shall simply transcend.

The changing of our hearts

The trauma some of us may all have to face,

These are often heightened arguments, which take place

Say a prayer before you allow speed to overcome haste.

We are all loved by God

And yes, he faces many questions from ourselves in the end

Looking to ask ‘why this and that happened’

And of moments where our heads have been dampened.

We lose the people we love,

We ‘well wish’, those who don’t understand us,

And yet importantly, yes, most importantly it’s God that we need to trust.

Exercise and Faith

Pray on during an enduring run

It’s uplifting, spiritual and it can be also fun.

The drive brings you light

The path leads to a fight,

There’s no turning back when you train

Looking at it objectively, the spirit needs to continue in order to sustain.

I lift the weights, once accomplished it’s an amazing feat

It’s my belief in God which refuses any form of defeat,

So I breathe in and then I breathe out

Is worth clapping your hands, that’s what it’s all about.

Believe in yourself

And yes there will be times you won’t be sure,

Exercise and faith shall encourage you that little bit more.

Back then

In the past we didn’t have a smart phone

Things were done that little bit slower and a bit more grace

Now we speed up and fall on our face.

Back then we took our time

We spoke that little bit  slower,

You didn’t need to go at speed

Now we rely on our phones… an element of our needs.

People are now far more impatient 

They talk a good talk but don’t follow it through,

That doesn’t apply to every one, just like the methodical ones… which is myself and you.

Today we are too fast

The speed of talking is quite intense,

We are desensitised to surroundings 

Where in the past we stopped, looked and reflected 

A moment to contemplate the next move which will soon be detected.

I will see you again

Believe it or not 

It ends in heaven, where earth is the first stop,

Looking to those you think you have lost

This couldn’t be more far away the truth, there are moments of cost.

Praying to God

And giving your heart,

Living for tomorrow, not knowing where it will take

Acknowledging the Father in heaven, there is an initial moment when you shall break.

The people who you love… are right ‘here’ in your ‘soul’

There is no need to fight, allow the tears to come out as you grow

The people that brought you warmth and a smile to your face

Yes, It is sad they are no longer here, but the cheers are shouted to embrace.

We shall see these people again….God has promised,

The soul is real, the people we can’t see now is only temporary, yet reliant 

Through supplication and prayer you shall become defiant.

Grandad

A new day, my loving Grandson

The time has passed but I am still here,

The world stills continues, and one day we shall see each other for a coffee, rum or beer.

I am proud of you,

I am looking out for you everyday,

God is focusing on you too, my words always remain alive still to this day.

You are my grandchild 

A man who is now walking this path in this life,

A humble man in Jesus, who has partnered through the Father’s divine.

Thank you for being you,

I am always here to say hello,

It’s never a goodbye my friend and my grandchild

The path you walk is towards your new home… heaven… you shall be at peace and never at all riled.

Speak to God.. you will then smile

You will be lifted

Even blessed and gifted,

The Lord utmost high, 

despite what you think you shall break and then smile.

Lord you make me smile

You test me with the gifts you gave,

Through you I am no longer a slave.

You make me smile

For quite a while, 

No form of intelligence can out do your worth

As you are the first and the last….and shall no burst.

You lift me with hope

You take away the tears,

You love me unconditionally 

My sins have been forgiven irrefutably.

You are never alone

God? Speak to me..

I know you are there,

There is plenty to say, but there are acts that I choose to share.

God? Where are you?

You give me free will to manage my choice,

If I do pray, then I know through you I shall have a voice.

God? The time is right

I need to get out of this rut and enter into a more healthier fight.

God you are the anchor for which we should all look to seek.

You are here

Don’t worry if you release a tear,

God is patiently waiting 

No other form of earthly needs part of this debating.

Be at peace 

Pray from afar if you choose not to stay in others presence,

Learning to move forward rather than staying in unnecessary decadence.

You are here loving 

Showing signs to lift,

If you speak negativity, I rather not have your gift.

I want peace 

To be with a team that motivates the heart,

If you hide all possibilities from which I can learn and attain, 

The exposure of living is gainfully pertained.

Youth

Youth?

Pray for them

Stay with them

Increase there love and endurance that’s so high

They look to God and never say: “why”.

They are young 

but soon they shall reach our age,

This will be their platform as well as their stage.

They are beautiful

Encourage, and they shall reach their goals,

It won’t be about race or politics, those topics simply causes plenty of blows.

It’s about praying for them,

Keeping their elevation of faith

Not daring the unnecessary, and through God there is plenty of haste.

God? speak to us all

God please speak to us all

Those who refuse, are unable to pick themselves up from when they do fall.

God love us

I know your love is like thirst from a well

Once consumed, the blessings received we are able to tell.

God your love is like no other

A blessing removes the demons who attack

As the devil is deceitful and shall heap pressure on your back.

God I know you love us

All we need to do is pray,

Our hands rejoice and then our hearts through you lead the way.

Holding on

Life is more than holding on

We look to avoid the mistakes where it could, or does go wrong.

I said to a friend:’how did I reach this place?”

People judging and are no longer their,

Or a stand out person? Who knew how to manage and was able to care.

Praying to God is a source to release many blessings,

The time with him is humbling and no time for messing,

A blessed team to love and support one other

The strength of God is inside of each of us, my sister and brother.

‘Holding on’ can reverse to a strength

Love of Christ is hope as a new page turns,

Looking towards the future is simply a prayer from where we can all learn.

Humility 

Hope

Love and the lead to prayer

Breaking for a new spirit, the Lord is is there to share.

Light

Darkness removed to see a new you,

No longer looking for compliments,  or a pat on the back 

The moment you spend time with God should never slack.

Sadness

Self pity, feelings to get a way out 

The Father in heaven is the one who loves you despite the sin you have amount.

Love is inside you

Don’t look away, 

If there’s the hope of a new start, may the heavens enlighten your way.

Mistakes and forgiveness

You need a calm presence

No manic behaviour, you are no good to anyone when that takes place

There is a time to be calm and time to be proactive that delves plenty of haste.

We have all messed up

It’s about learning, that’s the philosophical aim,

Stop beating yourself up, that’s when you look to wane.

We all have strengths and weaknesses

We all have lengths which eventually releases, 

So be kind to yourself, despite the fools who exist

The love of faith is something I can always miss.

Please don’t beat yourself up

There is no need for that,

Hold me close Lord, I know you have mine and others back

There is a passage of hope, which through prayer no one is able to slack.

Tired but fighting

I strongly encourage for you need to pray each day 

Some of you will understand this act

Some just wither and and could aim to detach.

Prayer is kindness

And prayer can bring you strength, 

Prayer breaks through the darkness, as the light releases any sign of intense. 

Prayer is your love

It holds you when all doesn’t seem to be going right,

Prayer is the love of your enemy, and deflect the devil the ability to bite.

Prayer is your friend and won’t let you go

Prayer is your master piece, it will balance you and neither make you go fast, or slow.

As my eyes see

Yes, the walk of faith is as easy or as hard as it treads

You find this enlightenment, through the challenges you look to amend.

The prayers takes place

The eyes close, the heart surrenders through the darkness which has taken place,

Then the light touches the heart, as the Father’s love has a detecting trace.

I love you my friend

I love the hope that the Father has in store,

What’s important is that you want the blessings the Father gives that little bit more.

So as you reflect

And see life passing you by,

Look to the source of positivity, the devil is too fickle to know his demise.

As I dream

I wake up and I do say a prayer

Even those I don’t want around, in my heart I do truly care.

We need to learn life isn’t fair, it never has been,

So we keep fighting, asking questions to turn a difficult situation right

Sometimes you need to remain still and allow God to fight.

I love to hug

And I do love to care,

Didn’t I mention I like a prayer? Not just for me, but for the ones whose moments that I’ve shared.

Yes, I believe in God, for me that important in my growth

A leap of faith is heightening, not saying I won’t face any other woes?

I pray for your wishes to become true

Look to the light through the darkness you faced,

There is a powerful source out there we should look to embrace.
