My friend

We have already discussed this

Which we said  I won’t write a poem about you,

Well my dear friend Brian, this is a friendship I am so grateful for, despite how these words may become anew.

You are my kind friend, one who listens and where we can exchange thoughts

This friendship was purely based on fate and never at all bought.

I am honoured to receive your advise

I am grateful that you are there,

I cherish the great and special times that we share.

You are my friend Brian,

You reply this: ‘I am simply me and no one else’ 

Yes that is honesty I expect from all of my friends

Yet I am always grateful to you, and thank you for being in my defence.

You are kind, firm and direct

And we all know people should do exactly the same,

The simple fact is that your example gives me and other people hope… 

so we don’t become fickle or feel alone.
