Crazy, Scary and stoic diabetes (Type 1 diabetes poem)

Allow me tell you
To care for someone with diabetes has its challenges,
Those with temperaments and want to take charge
Please leave a diabetic patient to it, otherwise they will give it large.

The hypos and hypers are a endless strain
And there’s ones who want to control, and others they face moments to disdain.

Walk in a diabetes shoes for a day
One minute they are fine
The next they appear awfully drunk,
No point going on alcohol, the feel you wish to bunk,

It’s a feeling where you feel you are drowning
And take all this activity to the core,
You just want to be in control of your health, plus a little bit more.

If you can avoid it, please don’t have this blind disease,
Life can be difficult with others trying to make it hard,
Humbled in God’s love, you know you are in a fight… so you start the day being at ease.

I believe in love… not categories

It don’t matter if you are black! It don’t matter if you are white! It don’t matter if you are gay! All that matters is that you show an act...
