The light will show

The sun will rise

The body will break and then eventually awake,

That’s the journey we enter through the Father, who is able to take.

Made mistakes…actually quite a few..

I’ll still be making them, only the Father can understand myself and you.

Don’t allow anyone to judge you

That’s the Father’s job.. isn’t that true?

The protector is your saviour, your light is to fend off foes,

The humble part of Faith is that he is the only belief that ultimately grows.

So what now?

Lord I need to confess to say you are our king

Blessings are from God

Luck is a blind word that doesn’t include God’s word.

That’s my argument with God all the time

You can’t have that!

Often a word said to a type 1 diabetic,

Or as we prefer to say ‘a person with diabetes’..

So allow me to explain on how you can treat us.

Yes, there’s a calculation involved

There’s an equation that includes to eat that cheesecake or carby dish,

Not the ‘plastic doctors’ who think they know your condition more, therefore, ought to dismiss.

People think they are helping

But we own this condition, not you,

It’s grating on the ear, when others say: ‘you can’t have that…’

‘Well actually I can even eat that chocolate bowler hat’.

Stay at peace with your condition 

People might have questions or even ask: ‘how do you get that condition?’

Well my pancreas decided to die… as that is simply my position.

I take insulin to live.. I have no choice

If I remain humble, focused and learn the system I need

Then one day you may get the gist to how I can feed.

The unsettled world will eventually have peace

People’s noise hits a level that challenges calm,

Remember the Father is with you always, patience is your weapon to avoid harm.

Calm is good 

Calm is loving

Calm is unsettling to those who crave noise,

Remain still, shoulders back and show plenty of poise.

You are Never alone

Love is a weapon to calm

Life today

Life in general always faces a fight

But then you look to something that makes you laugh and keen to enlight.

The way things went back then, when things did not workout,

When before, those garments were more private to parade and less irritation.

Love the Father wholeheartedly

I am blessed not lucky

I am blessed by the almighty

And so are you if you speak positive about the light,

Life is hard for many of us, and yes we need to knuckle down and fight.

God is your blessing 

God is your ‘go to’ person,

When things go wrong who do you turn to?

Nothing amazing about that, that’s between the Father and you.

Yes, there is anguish

And yes there is pain,

So go on keep speaking about it.. personally I worship the Father the one inside of you who can maintain.

I have a condition they say they cannot cure

Just pray for me, there’s no victim behaviour anymore.

We are beautiful in the Father’s eyes 

And when you believe you’ll feel the same too,

Despite the storm

Despite the fight,

Yes, we can grow weary, there’s a victory that isn’t ’a might’.

Nor do we with the Father by our side,

The perennial warrior from whom we can trust fully, and confide.

It brings you a blessing and overturns doubt, 

The love of the Father delivers an almighty clout.

Jesus fought to pay for our sins, a victory inevitably won.

Praying… the greatest gift when conversing with God

Speaking.. comes with an agenda, or narrative release

The world is so reactive 

Nothing calm and everything is a panic,

Humbling hearts and stillness in speech,

Say the words and move on, not like: “I like the sound of my voice”…. Please! Go off somewhere else to preach.

Be calm, say the words you need to say

Avoid the politics of “ahhh”, that drags you down and doesn’t need to stay.

There’s a plan of action, chaos can leave my counsel

Learning a new life (Type 1 Diabetes poem)

It was the Easter of 2003

I started a job with the NHS, 

An organisation which prevents or cures many health impacting tests.

That time of year I started to feel thirsty 

As I wasn’t sure what to do, 

I was going to the toilet a lot, as this new journey was about to ensue. 

I found a way, but don’t get me wrong…this disease is awful

Especially where hypos are so impacting  

And life with it can be everso distracting. 

To be honest I can’t wait until a genius finds a cure 

Where we face dangers, day to day 

As I simply pray this feeling and condition goes away.

Still I have learnt so much about I 

I try to remain assertive, balanced and calm,

And where the bullies and cowards want to do that little more harm.

So I pray one day for a cure

Where this condition shall be no more,

May the heavens upon us, keep those who are focused and where the insulin shall regenerate inside, and shall no longer slow us.

My testimony ❤️🙏🏽

I looked towards Father when all else decided to fail,

It’s not that saying: what’s works for you” you are the Father who responded to your calling which I decided to yell.

“Do you believe in me” I heard the words that were speaking to my heart and in my head, 

As I thought my well wisher wasn’t on the other side of the phone when I needed them, so I accepted a prayer instead.

I struggled with people

Despite having a job which I know the Father provided, 

There was a cry for desperation 

The prayer caused an almighty magnification.

I hated myself, others causing harm with vexatious words

And I responded back aggressively, as all I wanted is to be is heard. 

So thank you God for saving my life 

And that one day I shall be with you with the people who are no longer here 

With The Father in my presence I have nothing else to fear.

What a life we lead?

Testing, calculating and analysing to intercede.

Our brains are mathematical 

Because they are trained that way,

This carb intake equation is never calm or eases the strain.

You get frustrated with people who do not understand 

As the hypos are often a trial

And there are the hypers, which need to be taken down but can take awhile.

There are others who wallow 

So you do interrupt because you are managing your stress 

As I pray in the name of Jesus this is condition is cured  to erode this bloody mess.

Diabetes - a day in our lives

I hear those words:  ‘I couldn’t live with that’

I suppose if your temperament is erratic with a fiery impulsive alert, 

and avoiding the political blindness where Insulin is no longer available to convert.

The pressure of this condition is endless 

There’s life to deal with too…

As you need to stay calm and attained 

This condition has many challenges and causes many strains.

You learn to be calm and if you explode it’s because the sugar lows are impacting the mind,

Can’t they find a solution to turn on the tap to release insulin and breakdown the blood sugars for energy to arrive? 

Not this “ahh” response as I want to feel alive.

I pray for a cure for us all

Learning to move forward and avoiding to stall,

I know our bodies eventually breakdown, for us with this condition where all organs are affected,

God did make us humble yet this cure needs to be implemented.

Why argue?

Actually if you do, then learn to agree to disagree

There shall always be drama queens and wind up merchants 

I am comfortable speaking with God, so that’s my discernment.

I rather speak about the Father

The lifted spirit that shall eventually rise,

God is everywhere; regardless if you think he is in a disguise.

The time needs to be used wisely

The balance conversations need to be humble, and pragmatically true,

The Father is the cornerstone, the one I rather imbue.

Prayer is highlighting the great news 

when the Son of God returns to take us home,

These are the kind of conversations I rather encourage…as we wait to see the Father on the throne.

A season for patience

It’s been hell of a year and a half 

Struggling to find balance and as well as a laugh.

Yes, I have started to chuckle by doing what I do

Yet I need more attainment Lord… this area of timing I prefer to last.

Do I need this question again, this is frequently asked in what I fear. 

Some people care

Some people forget that you have this ruddy condition 

Some don’t care, even if you do fall, that’s not suppose to be the rendition. 

The condition is has a pain

Even when you go for a walk,

And when you have a hypo, the last thing you want to do is talk?

At the end of the day

There are so many “ahh’s” you can hear

Then again at least someone is caring, as you have nothing else to fear. 😉

Only God knows

We are part of his plan

I am not scared but I want to be humbled by God’s stand.

You won’t leave me, nor would I want for you

You are my perennial Father

The spirit that has the light

Therefore, there is humility so illuminating and fight.

Tomorrow there is love

Today there are questions,

They are always humble confessions.

I won’t refuse you

That is what the Father says,

Nothing is needs to be aggressive, as humbleness stays

To get close to God

Why do we need to be here?

You are here because God asked you not to fear,

Therefore you may not like the path you are about to face 

Yet it’s through his timing you are about to encase.

You won’t always like the walk

Yet it’s God’s journey you need to see

The light at the end of the tunnel you shall understand when you about to flee.

Stay with the Father and speak to him through a prayer

Be bold, and don’t be shy 

And if you feel his presence, surrender, this isn’t about gossip nor you ever need to pry…

Leave the path you walk with the Father 

The ultimate chapter you shall ever face,

Focus on his light when you end up in the promise land

As your strength shall make you forever stand..

Living with…

We all have health problems we need to endure

Yet this diabetes lark is truly a struggle and does need an insulin cure.

I am a advocate for the diabetes community 

As we need less politics and more sense in this type 1 or 2 unity. 

It’s not about “aww poor you” 

It’s about eating that cake and not calculating the food types we eat

And then there are the questions, I rather not greet.

You see.. I am light minded but I am pissed of having a hypo each day,

And there are others who say “be careful”.. do me a favour “go”… those words have no meaning, as they shan’t stay. 

So as I and many others go to the gym and try our best

People looking at me and say “you don’t look diabetic”

Please “p… off” those words are truly pathetic

So hypos and hypers, the daily struggles we face 

And there are people who are inquisitive and I don’t want to embrace.

Lord I pray for family and friends 

Nothing else can cause harm, as only you they can truly depend.

No more: ahh’ said and, then afterwards the words “all shall be alright”

We know Lord you have plenty of fight.

You and no one else

Thank you providing us with angels to hold us together,

The word isn’t ‘luck’ and that isn’t the never..,never.

You are our counsellor for who we should defend

Those who don’t know you truly, should acknowledge the struggles as you fight to the end.

Love you Father

You are the nut with the bolt strongly attached,

Your strength is amazing and will never be surpassed 

You are the reason we do not break, but when we do we shall come back stronger… that bit fast.

The need to love you ❤️

The story for us all

Can sometimes make you feel negative and fall.

So this is where my story starts… 

I am short but have oily olive skin,

I have a big heart, yet I am as blind as a bat

Yet I hear these people who do not like their skin or their skinny frame, maybe in God’s eyes you are perfectly attained.

So why are you so hard on you?

Perfection is for God to pursue.

So stop saying negative things about your look

You are after all the creation of your own book,

God knows what’s behind and in front 

So therefore remove that negativity, that notion needs to be shunt.

This relationship feels so honourable as through God’s grace this can last quite a while,

Your humour, intelligence and God spirit direction

They have true meaning for me to hold through a heartfelt phase

And the prayers I have for you shall do nothing in God’s wisdom but simply amaze.

You are warm, cheeky witty and funny

You make me laugh which brings out a glorious zest

I know God’s wishes nothing for you but the best.

My two Angels

I’ve know you guys for a few decades

We have endured and gone through moments thick and thin,

And you have put a roof over my head and food in my belly when sometimes I refuse to eat

You have helped me on countless occasions to avoid defeat.

Yes, I am a distant sod and do not always want to talk,

You give me free will when I decide to leave the door and then walk

The fact is, is that I love you guys, no matter what..

No matter how charming that’s sounds,

You keep my feet firmly on the ground.

I thank you

I bless you with a prayer said each day,

I do want to spend more time with God, that feeling shan’t go away.
